Eligibility
Students from catholic, public and private schools who reside within the city of Mississauga, north and west of Highway 403andHighway 410and north to Highway 407 (please see the attached map) are eligible to apply to St. Francis Xavier SS Pre-International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Admission process to Grade 9 Pre-IB for the 2017-2018 school year:Dates to Remember:
November 19 Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT - Upper Level)
(Sessions start at 1: 8:30-11:00; Session 2: 11:30-2:00)
December 16 Deadline for the Admission Acceptance/Decline Form to be faxed
December 22 Full applications are due to the Main Office (full applications will be posted
on December 12)

Preliminary applications aredue on October 31, 2016
Please submit your application in person to the Student Services (Guidance) office between 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM starting October 12, 2016. The Student Services office is located on the main floor (after entering the school building through the main entrance, turn to the left hallway and proceed to the end of it; the office is on the left.)
If you reside in the St. Francis Xavier Secondary School catchment area (please see the Boundary Map at our school's Home page) and your child intends to apply to our school even if he/she is not given an offer of admission to the Grade 9 IB Preparatory Program, please apply to the regular (Academic/Applied) program as soon as applications become available.
When your child applies to the regular program at our school and is also given an offer of admission to the Grade 9 IB Preparatory Program (through the Pre-IB Preliminary Application process), we will change your child's enrollment status automatically.

Selection Process
The selection process involves rating of applicants based on:
- their performance in Grade 7 core subjects - end-of the-year Report Card (English, French, Mathematics, and Science) – 33% of the final evaluation;
- their performance in the remaining subjects – 22%;
- the homeroom teacher’s evaluation of the student’s Learning Skillsand Work Habits (Responsibility, Independent Work, Initiative, Organization, Collaboration, Self-Regulation) -- 5%;
- the Secondary School Admission Test-Upper Level administered by the PrepSkills, Inc. at our school (the essay portion of the test is not administered; more information about the SSAT can be found at http://prepskills.com/ssat/what-tested-ssat or at www.ssat.org) – 40%
